We're looking for a new voluntary director

The Shetland Shellfish Management Organisation (SSMO) is looking for an extra director to help with local control of the inshore shellfish sector. The role is voluntary and involves a formal board meeting every two months and some decision-making through email consultations.

The SSMO is an award-winning fisheries regulatory body with legal powers devolved from the Scottish Government to regulate shellfish fisheries within six nautical miles of Shetland.

Candidates should be based in Shetland and interested in directing sustainable fisheries to the benefit of the local fishing community and promoting a healthy inshore marine environment.
