New Safety Requirements for UK Fishing Vessels

The additional requirements in the Code for Fishing Vessels of less than 15m are as follows:

Liferafts will become compulsory on 7-15m vessels

For 10-15m vessels satellite EPERB's will become mandatory

For 7 - 10m vessels either satellite EPERB's or Personal Location Beacons(PLBs) for each crew member will become mandatory

For under 7m vessels carriage of a PLB for each crew member will become mandatory

There might be a 2 year lead in period for the above but this is still under discussion.
